Color: Jet White/Candy Lime Green (Metallic). In stock form alone, the 1200 STX-R is the model that won the annual Personal Watercraft Illustrated Musclecraft Shootout. This high-performance Jet Ski is also the model used by Team Kawasaki until 2005, when the team switched to the STX-15F (4-stroke)--which requires the use of racing fuel when modified with the supercharged system. This Jet Ski features nearly the identical setup used by Team Kawasaki on the race craft used by Chris McCluggage in the World Championship races (excluding the use of high-compression pistons, which--like the STX 15F--requires the use of non-readily-available high-octane racing fuel.) Thus, it is the fastest you can make this machine run on 93-octane pump gas! It is only slightly slower in acceleration than its high-compression counterpart--yet the top speed is 2-4 miles per hour faster, at 72-74 miles per hour. At this speed, this Jet Ski 1200 STX-R has a greater top speed than any new stock personal watercraft on the market, including the brand new 2010 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 260LX. This Jet Ski features the following modifications: Factory Pipe Triple Pipe exhaust system with modified CDI module (which alone adds 50 horsepower, 8.5 mph to the top speed, and a huge increase in acceleration), NOVI XR48MM carburetors (replacing the restrictive, stock 40MM carburetors), Tau Ceti flame arrestors, R&D Racing intake, R&D Racing Reeds with stock Kawasaki 800 SXR pedals (for lightness and durability), R&D Ride Plate with Intake Grate, Skat-Trak 14/24R impeller, and Beach House sponsons. Approximately 200+ horsepower from a two-stroke format! For those who are looking for the "savage", on/off acceleration, only available from such a two-stroke Jet Ski--which is no longer a characteristic of new personal watercraft because of the move to softer-hitting, "linear" accelerating four-stroke power plants. No longer easily duplicated because of Factory Pipe's discontinuation of the Triple Pipe exhaust system for the 1200 STX-R.
